Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica is pleased to invite you to a workshop focused on innovative business models for the Barbora Route, which will take place on 13 February 2026 at the Faculty of Economics, Matej Bel University, in Banská Bystrica.

The workshop will be led by Esben Rahbek Gjerdrum Pedersen,  Professor at Copenhagen Business School and an internationally recognised expert in innovative business models, corporate social responsibility, and innovation.

The event is intended for key stakeholders, entrepreneurs, representatives of local authorities, cultural and non-profit organisations, as well as other actors interested in the sustainable development of the Barbora Route.

The aim of the workshop is to strengthen skills related to cultural heritage, encourage active participation of local communities, and support the development of innovative business models grounded in local heritage, collaboration, and long-term sustainability.

During the workshop, participants will:

- develop skills related to the use and interpretation of cultural heritage,
- work with practical business model tools and frameworks and gain insights from international academic and practical experience,
- explore entrepreneurial ideas linked to heritage-based activities,
- exchange knowledge and experience with other participants,
- contribute to shaping the future development of the route and identify opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and community-led development along the Barborská cesta.
